My Citibank credit card 2% cash-back recently offered me 1.99% interest for six months.
Fortunately, there is no need for this in our family right now, but it is certainly an attractive interest rate!
The thing that jumps out at me though, is that they seem to be attempting to train me into carrying a balance on their credit card.
Then will raise the interest rate by 11 times and start charging me 22%!
This unsolicited offer seems like some of the behavioral finance methods we use to help people, but in reverse.
It's like they are trying to take advantage of the psychology of money to get a practically mobster interest rate out of us.
It's still better than another bank selling a family member terrorism insurance after 9/11 for $9.99 a month.
Please be careful out there.
