The past week has been rough for the stock market and your investment accounts. Your ISC Financial Advisors team discussed what type of communication we should send based upon recent events.

We decided to keep it simple; no graphs, no discussion about how markets rebound, the average number of pullbacks in a market per year, etc.

We want to remind you that through our meetings and calls, we have planned for this.

Goals-based planning - We have set up an investment strategy based upon your unique goals and have stress tested it just for times like this.

Rebalancing – We rebalance your accounts regularly to ‘sell high’ and ‘buy low.’ Selling high can feel easy; however, being able to buy as the market goes down can be emotionally difficult.

Remember, we have picked an allocation to stocks and bonds that we believe will best help you meet your financial goals.

Bonds – They may be a part of your portfolio for times like this. The bonds are performing as we would have hoped. Over the past week, bonds are up about 1%.

Clients in retirement – We have built years of cash and conservative investments to meet your monthly needs for cash. Your investment accounts are structured to weather a long-term down market to protect your goals.

Know that we diligently manage the money you entrusted to us. We take that job seriously and are here to answer any questions you have. Please do not hesitate to email or call us. Or, let’s set up a time to meet in person.

Have a great weekend,

Your ISC Financial Advisor team
