For those of you who love podcasts like me, I thought this might be interesting.
Times have changed so much and for the better.
When I was a kid, I used to play with short-wave radios, police scanners, CB radios and eventually moved on from book tapes to using a VCR on super slow to record talk radio. I was and still am a massive nerd!
Below was my home radio set, complete with a custom cabinet I built in wood shop.
Flash forward another ten years, and I was able to download a program that would log in to streaming podcasts from radio stations in Minnesota, from California where I was living at the time, and automatically record them onto my computer. Then I could listen later and skip commercials.
Now my podcasts automatically download, and I can listen at high speed with no commercials.
It's a great time to be a podcast listener.
Recently, for $25 I added “Alexa Auto” to my car, which makes listening to podcasts over the car speakers super easy and sounds great. It also allows me to dial-up “baby shark” for my son Will a few days a week on our way home from daycare.
Happy learning and thanks for taking a look!
