"Never. Give. Up."
It's our family motto that we often talk about with the kids. When they are having a hard time, we say "NEVER," and they say "GIVE UP."
Although their enthusiasm can wane depending on the scenario, the core of the message is the same.
Investing is similar. This doesn't mean being blindly naive with perpetual rose-colored glasses on. But invest with logic and reason on your side, and don't panic when the storm you knew was going to come along every 5-10 years finally does.
It's a normal part of investing, and it doesn't mean things are broken.
