I discovered a new way to motivate people to review their estate plan documents.
"We could ask the attorney, but then they might send a bill."
That was a motivating factor recently, and we found some things from over five years that still hadn’t been completed!
Of course legal planning is critical when it comes to protecting your family and hard earned assets.
But often its hard to get people to address these issues, it can take years to get the documents done if there is even a little procrastination. Simple steps like reading the current documents and instructions the attorney sent with the last plan can be a good start. Then reviewing beneficiary designations, working with the attorney, and whatever else is needed to make sure everything is set correctly.
There is no time like the present. Make sure your things are in order, or buckle up!
